Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Imudb's Rap Writer (the "App"), provided by Imudb ("we", "us") through Imudb.co. By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Who can use the App

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for using online services without parental consent in your country. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian.

2. The App

The App is a free tool for writing lyrics, finding rhymes, rehearsing and recording. We may change, add or remove features, or suspend the App, at any time. We don't promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to the lyrics, recordings and other material you create with the App ("Your Content"). We don't claim ownership of it, and because Your Content is stored in your browser, we don't receive it.

You are responsible for Your Content and for keeping backups. We are not responsible for lost content, including loss caused by clearing browser data, private browsing, device failure or browser storage limits. Use Projects → Export Backup regularly.

4. Beats and other material you bring

If you load a beat or any other audio into the App, you are responsible for having the rights to use it. Many "free" beats are free only for non-profit use or require credit to the producer, so read the license before you release or monetize a song. The free beat sources listed in the App are run by third parties. We don't control their content and don't guarantee their licenses.

5. Built-in beats license

The App can generate original instrumentals ("Built-in Beats"). As long as you follow these Terms, we give you a free, worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to use Built-in Beats in songs and videos you create. That includes recording over them, editing them, and distributing, performing and monetizing the finished work on streaming services, social media, radio, live shows and anywhere else. Credit such as "Beat: Imudb's Rap Writer" is appreciated but not required.

You may not:

• sell, license or distribute a Built-in Beat on its own, or as part of a beat pack, sample pack or sound library;
• claim exclusive ownership of a Built-in Beat; or
• register a Built-in Beat, or a song that uses one, with YouTube Content ID or a similar content identification system in a way that claims other people's use of the same beat.

Other users can generate the same Built-in Beats, which is why this license is non-exclusive.

6. Inspiration content

Starter bars, topics, ghostwriter skeletons, slang definitions and rhyme suggestions are there for inspiration, and you may use them freely in your songs. Rhyme, pronunciation and word data come from third-party services and may be incomplete or wrong. Slang definitions are informal and general.

7. Acceptable use

When using the App, you agree not to:

• break any law, or use the App to create or share content that is unlawful, threatening or harassing;
• infringe anyone else's rights, for example by releasing a song over a beat you have no license for;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, hack or gain unauthorized access to the App, its servers or the services it relies on;
• use bots or scripts to send excessive requests to the App or to the third-party services it uses; or
• suggest that you are affiliated with or endorsed by Imudb when you are not.

8. Our intellectual property

Apart from Your Content and third-party material, the App's design, code, text, graphics and branding belong to Imudb or its licensors. "Imudb" and "Imudb's Rap Writer" are our brand names. You may not copy, modify or redistribute the App except as these Terms or the law allow.

9. Third-party services and links

The App uses third-party services, such as the Datamuse API for word data and Google Fonts for its typeface, and links to other websites. Their own terms and policies apply, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.

10. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Imudb will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content, profits or revenue, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us to use it in the 12 months before the claim. The App is free, so for most people that amount is zero.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country.

12. Indemnity

You agree to cover any claims, losses and reasonable costs that Imudb incurs because of Your Content or your breach of these Terms, to the extent the law allows.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will make reasonable efforts to let you know in the App. If you keep using the App after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
